The thing I like about their program is that it encourages my daughter to read story books. In the past, I do bring her to the national library to borrow books but then she won't have the initiative to take them out to read. Now that the class requires every one to borrow 2 books each week and be prepared for their next lesson, she will be more interested and disciplined to take the books out and have me read with her. The teacher will also then write down some comments in their reading record when she tell the class about the books she had borrowed and read. But I would say that their fees not low but then well I see positive results so far.

At term start the teacher will give out a summary list of alphabets that they will be covering every week. It is a parent accompanied class and so I am able to know how the teacher taught and go back and revise with my child. We will usually start with songs and then they will get 1 to 2 kids to come forward and tell the class about their previous week homework. Every week there will be homework but its just one sheet and so its still fine. Then there is also flash card that shows the alphabet. She will show the letter and introduce the alphabet sound and ask the kids to use their fingers to write the letter. After this, the teacher will get the kids to pick some cards and read out what the picture is showing. E.g. for letter "F", there will be a picture of a Friendly Fish and the child will have to read out in front of everyone. Awesome learning phonics the fun way! There will also be some time for drama time and lastly she will give us homework for the week.
