Since toddler my daughter loves to take crayons and scribble and draw everywhere. Practically everywhere including my walls and furniture despite giving her paper. So we thought that it would be a good idea to send her to a Art school - perhaps she might have some hidden talent and to also train her to stop drawing on my walls. The school teaches different drawing techniques, skills on how to apply colors on the drawing and blending of colors. They will provide the material and tools for the children to work with. Also there will be exposure to painting on canvas using oil pastels, making things with clay and they are allowed to bring these back home the following week. I believe the school intends to focus more on the coloring foundation first before anything else and so they emphasize a lot on coloring and blending.
I sent my boy to Global Art as it is the nearest to my house. It is conveniently located in the mall and I can do my grocery shopping while waiting for him to end his class. I sent him to an art class because he complained that he could not draw while his classmates could. At Global Art, when he started out at 3 years old, it was a 1 to 1 session and is mainly on colouring and doing some art and crafts. He then progresses on with colouring of different tones using pastel colours and cartoon drawing. Now he is learning to draw real life objects and is in a group class now.
